College football Saturdays are a different animal. Fifty games, famous programs, rivalries, and a public that will happily lay 24 points with a team because it has a logo they recognize. This page shows you where the crowd lands on every game we have lines for.
College football public betting is the share of picks on each side of every spread, total and moneyline this week. You get the percentage, how many picks it's built on, and the crowd's side highlighted. The numbers combine the CentSports consensus with our own players' full-game bets on the college football odds, one per player per side, and they keep moving until kickoff.
Big names draw big percentages
The public bets brands. A blue-blood program at home draws picks almost no matter the number, and that's exactly why its lines can get inflated. Once a side passes 70% we start asking whether the spread has caught up with the hype. Under 60% is just a lean. Between those, the crowd has a clear favorite.
Every percentage lists its picks, and a side needs a minimum before it shows. On a big Saturday the marquee games fill up fast. A Tuesday night game between two smaller schools may never get there, and we'd rather leave it blank than show you a number built on a handful of people.
Big spreads, backdoor covers
College football spreads get huge. Favorites of 20, 30, even 40 points show up every week, and those games are where public money and reality part ways most often. A favorite up big in the fourth quarter pulls its starters, the other team scores a late touchdown against the backups, and the public's side wins the game but loses the bet. That's the backdoor cover, and every college football bettor has a story about one.
Under each game you'll find the lines at the sportsbooks we follow, with the best number for the popular side picked out. With this many games, books disagree more than in the NFL, and a point or two of difference is common.
Reverse line moves on Saturday
When 70% or more of the picks are on one team and the line still moves toward the other, the page tags it as a reverse line move. Tap the game for the opening line next to the current one. In college football these often show up in the mid-major and Group of Five games where the public isn't paying close attention but bigger bettors are.
Games that have started stay on the page until midnight with the live or final score, so you can see how the crowd did across the whole slate.
Crowd, handicappers and the model
We like to put the public numbers next to the college football expert picks and the college football computer picks. When all three point the same way, fine. When the crowd is on one side and the handicappers and the model are on the other, that game deserves your attention. You can bet any of it with a free balance whenever you're ready.

College Football Consensus Picks FAQ
What is college football public betting?
It's where everyday bettors are on this week's college football games: the percentage of picks on each side of every spread, total and moneyline.
Why do some college football games have no percentage?
A side needs a minimum number of picks before its percentage shows. The big games fill in fast; smaller conference games may not get there.
Does the public bet big favorites in college football?
Often, especially famous programs. Big spreads make that harder than it looks, because a backdoor touchdown late can decide the cover.
When is college football public betting most useful?
Friday night and Saturday morning, when most of the week's picks are in.
Is college football public betting data free?
Yes, for everyone, with no account needed.
